THOMPSON'S RESORT

Situated in the Churchill River System on Otter Lake is Thompson’s Resort. We host 35 rental cabins from bachelor suites to group cabins housing up to 24 people. Each of our rental units comes equipped with a kitchenette, stocked with basic items, a BBQ, bathrooms and Wi-Fi. Thompson's Resort hosts an onsite restaurant with dine in and cabin delivery options, conference facilities and for your grocery needs, the Churchill River Trading Post is located just across the street. Thompson’s Resort is the departure point to visit our outpost camps, day fly out lakes and departures for Twin Falls Lodge.

SERVICE AND AMENITIES

We offer Interpretive boat tours showcasing local Indigenous rock paintings, rapids and wildlife. We also offer evening lake tours, scenic flights of the local area, boat rentals, canoe, kayak rental, and glamping kits for those who would like to paddle out and camp on a nearby island. There are several trailhead located right in town, a great berry picking patch and a public playground and beach onsite. The Churchill River Trading Post is also open year round with all your basic groceries needs as well as bait and tackle, confectionary items, clothing, fuel, and merchandise from local artists and craftsmen!

 

The Restaurant has a brand new, locally curated menu (with some classic Missinipe favourites, of course!) There is cell phone coverage through Missinipe and the immediate surrounding area. Professional guides are available to show our guests around the lake and some of the best fishing spots!

ACCOMMODATIONS

Every cabin and unit at Thompson’s Resort has a bathroom with a shower, a full kitchen with basic cookware, and access to a barbecue. ​Children 12 and under are free. All cabins are non-smoking.

BACHELOR CABINS

Bachelor cabins are perfect for 1 - 4 people and are centrally located right across from the main lodge, docks and the Churchill River Trading Post.

1 BEDROOM SUITE

Lakeshore Suites feature a modern kitchenette, hide away bed, a separate bedroom and bathroom. The two story Lakeshore building has a wonderful view of Back Bay. Ideal for 1 - 4 people.​

2 BEDROOM CABINS

Five 2 bedroom cabins available that can accommodate 4 - 8 people, some with recent upgrades.

3-5 BEDROOM CABINS

A selection of 3-5 bedroom cabins can sleep anywhere from 5 to 13 people. 

GROUP CABINS

Two large group cabins available that can sleep 11 - 24 people. A great option for large groups!

CHALETS

Walker Bay Chalets are modern 3 bedroom log cabin style accommodation for up to 9 people. Hunter's Lodge is a great option for groups of up to 7 people.

Beautiful, remote location. I wish the weather was warmer while I was there but the Walker Bay cabin I was in was great. Bunk beds for 3 in one room, plus two bedrooms with room for 2 each as well as a pull out in the upstairs loft. This would be a great holiday space for Christmas or New years.
